Nonprofit Website Design

Build a website that helps you raise awareness, engage supporters, and reach your goals.

Your nonprofit website isn’t just a brochure — it’s a platform for impact. Whether you’re focused on fundraising, event registration, education, or advocacy, your nonprofit website needs to connect with visitors fast and make it easy for them to get involved.

At Cider House, we specialize in nonprofit website design that balances strategy, usability, and storytelling. From small community organizations to large foundations, we build sites that are easy to manage, mobile-friendly, and ready to grow alongside your mission.

An image illustrating the idea that the business should guide the customer through their process of discovery and resolution.

Your website is often the first — and sometimes only — chance to connect.

For nonprofits, a strong digital presence isn’t optional anymore. Whether someone finds you through a social post, a search result, or a community partner, your website needs to be ready to welcome them in and move them to action.

That means fast load times, user-friendly structure, donation options that are simple to navigate, and a layout that supports your goals — whether that’s launching a new campaign, managing events, or growing your audience.

We design nonprofit websites that are built with best practices from the start: clear structure, thoughtful content, and smart integrations with your donation tools, email platform, and content management system. Your site becomes more than just a page — it becomes a tool for engagement, storytelling, and impact.

Cider House Media is a gem of a company! Lennie, Elizabeth, and Richard overhauled the insides of the website for the CORPS de Ballet International organization after we left a predatory web hosting company. They reconfigured our payment and membership systems, and they've ensured that the site functionality was what we needed. They're efficient, respond quickly with accuracy, reasonably priced, and are also just really nice people to work with! On behalf of the leadership and membership of CORPS, bravo and thank you!!

Design with purpose. Development with impact.

We don’t do cookie-cutter templates. We design nonprofit websites that are easy to navigate, flexible to update, and aligned with your mission from day one. Whether you’re launching a new site or need to overhaul an outdated one, we’ll guide you through a clear, collaborative process.

Smart nonprofit website design starts with real goals

We’ve worked with nonprofits of all sizes, and we know the best nonprofit websites do three things well: they tell your story clearly, make it easy for visitors to take action, and stay flexible behind the scenes.

That’s why every nonprofit web design project we take on includes custom design and development, strategic planning, and the tools you actually need — from donation forms and event calendars to email marketing integration and analytics setup.

Your new website will be:

  • User-friendly for visitors, whether they’re donating, browsing your blog, or registering for an event
  • Built on WordPress or a platform that fits your tech comfort level
  • Optimized for SEO and structured to attract search engines and support your ongoing marketing efforts
  • Flexible and easy to manage, with content creation tools your team can actually use
  • Designed for accessibility and best practices, so you can serve every audience and meet compliance standards
  • Ready for growth, with options for interactive maps, campaign landing pages, ticket sales, and more

From navigation to form submissions, we focus on streamlining the user experience (UX) so that your visitors don’t just land on your site — they stay, engage, and act.

Flexible design and development for organizations doing real work

We’ve worked with nonprofits across the spectrum — from volunteer-run collectives to state-level advocacy groups. And we know that every organization has different needs, different goals, and different levels of technical comfort.

That’s why we don’t rely on rigid templates or one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we deliver high-quality, eye-catching nonprofit website designs that are intuitive to use, easy to update, and tailored to your team and audience.

We’ve built sites for:

  • Local nonprofits + community orgs – Clear messaging, integrated donation tools, and flexible design themes that grow with your programs.
  • Advocacy + policy organizations – SEO-focused architecture, campaign landing pages, and integrated visuals that compel action.
  • Arts + cultural organizations – Showcase galleries, event registration, and beautiful graphic elements that let your mission shine.
  • Education + youth programs – User-friendly websites designed to serve parents, students, staff, and supporters with minimal friction.
  • Nonprofit networks + coalitions – Comprehensive design and development for multi-stakeholder groups with lots of moving parts.

Every nonprofit website we build is set up for ongoing success — with best-in-class support, scalable systems, and thoughtful design that’s easy for your visitors to navigate and easy for your team to manage.

Nonprofits come in all shapes and missions. We design for them all.

Whether you’re running a grassroots campaign or managing a multi-site foundation, we build websites that meet you where you are — and give you room to grow.

A collaborative, step-by-step process — built for clarity, not confusion

You’re already doing important work. We’re here to support it — with a clear, strategic process that puts your goals first and keeps your team involved from start to finish. Whether you’re launching a new website or updating a long-standing one, we’ll help you get there with confidence.

Kickoff + Strategic Planning

Every great nonprofit website starts with a plan. During your kickoff meeting, we’ll dig deep into your mission, your audiences, and what success looks like. What do you need your site to do? What outcomes are you hoping for? From increasing donations to making it easier for people to find your programs, we’ll map out a clear, actionable roadmap to guide the design and development process.

You’ll leave this phase with clarity, priorities, and a plan that reflects the real-world needs of your organization.

Messaging + Content Creation

Many of our nonprofit clients already have strong writers on staff — and we welcome that. Whether you want to write everything yourself, get help polishing what you have, or hand it off entirely, we’ll support you however you need. Our job is to make sure your message is clear, compelling, and aligned with your goals.

We’ll work together to structure your content around visitor journeys, making it easy for people to navigate your programs, give a donation, register for an event, or get involved.

  • Accessibility + Visual Design Best Practices
Designed to meet WCAG guidelines and create a great experience for all visitors — with a visual style that aligns with your mission and values.
  • Ongoing Support Options After launch, you’ll have access to training, documentation, and optional ongoing maintenance. You’re never on your own — unless you want to be.

A great website is only the beginning — let’s get more people to see it.

Once your nonprofit’s website is live, the next step is making sure it reaches the right people. We can help with that, too.

If you’re ready to grow your visibility, improve your search rankings, or launch a digital campaign, we’ll help you create a plan that fits your capacity and your goals.

We offer:

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
We’ll help you attract more organic traffic with keyword-rich content, smart page structure, and search engine optimization strategies that respect your mission — and your team’s bandwidth.

Content Creation + Blogging Support
Whether you need help writing blog posts, creating new pages, or building campaign landing pages, we’ll help you keep your content fresh and relevant.

Email Marketing + List Growth Strategy
We can connect your website to your email tools, improve your signup experience, and help you turn casual visitors into long-term supporters.

Digital Fundraising Campaigns
From Giving Tuesday landing pages to multi-channel strategy, we’ll help you create a consistent digital presence across your website, social media, and email.

If you’re ready to get more out of your website — and turn it into a real engine for awareness and support — we’ll help you make that next move.

We’ll help you say what matters — clearly and consistently.

Sometimes the hardest part of launching a new website is figuring out how to talk about what you do. If your organization is growing, shifting, or clarifying its mission, we can help you develop the kind of message that sticks — and a brand that supports it.

We offer one-on-one consulting for nonprofits that need support with:

Mission + Vision Alignment
Clarify your purpose and goals so your website reflects the work you’re actually doing — not what you were doing five years ago.

Content Architecture + Voice
We’ll help you organize your content so it’s easy for visitors to browse, understand, and act — with writing that sounds like you.

Visual Brand Guidance
Whether you’re refining what you have or starting fresh, we can assist with logo updates, font selection, color palettes, and layout templates to support a custom design that feels personal and polished.

Campaign Messaging
We’ll help you personalize and streamline your messaging for upcoming initiatives — from year-end giving to new program launches.

This isn’t about making you sound like someone else. It’s about helping you say what matters in a way that moves people to act.

You’ve got the mission. We’ll help you build the platform to match.

Whether you’re just starting out or refreshing an outdated site, we’ll guide you through a thoughtful, mission-focused process that results in a website you’re proud to share — and one that actually moves the needle.

Let’s build a nonprofit website that works as hard as you do.
